Arthur Demonceau is a Belgian musician. Born in 1998, he’s still young but already has a vision of what he wants to do: make classic music great again. He always wants to learn new things. That’s why he has several strings to his bow (French Expression).
Nowadays, Arthur is an optic worker by day, a musician by night. In his hand, you might see a saxophone, a flute, a clarinet, or even a baton. Arthur is member of several music ensembles, like ZFC Fanfare Corps Zaandijk, where he plays Alto Saxophone; Excelsior Oostzaan where he plays Soprano saxophone, and conductor of the Wester Harmonie in Nieuw-West. He also teaches saxophone in several organisations. Every now and then, he also accompanies the Church Service in Zaandam Vermaning.
Before moving to the Netherlands, Arthur studied in Maastricht, where he got his Saxophone bachelor’s degree, and then Leuven where he did his HaFaBra Conducting studies. Throughout his years, Arthur played in lots of different ensembles: saxophone quartets, octets, even orchestra’s, but also wind bands, fanfare orchestra’s …
Arthur, born 21th of July, defined himself as a polyvalent musician, in genre and in tasks. Thanks to all the experiences he has, he knows about classical genres, but also jazz and pop, and even bandas style. His message is clear: destroy the stereotypes and make the audience come back in the concert halls. Organ isn’t only sacred music, classic music isn’t only Mozart and boring, saxophone is not only Jazz.
